Consignment
Our Consignment Program
The Cooper City Antique Mall is well-recognized as one of the finest and oldest antique malls in Broward County, Florida, and for good reason! We have a terrific selection of quality antiques and collectibles offered by our many independent dealers, and we have sold millions of dollars worth of merchandise for our dealers since 1993.
Over the years we've also had many people approach us looking to sell a few antiques - perhaps they inherited some antique furniture or glassware, or they simply want to scale down. Whatever the case, until now the only option we've offered has been to rent space, and for those with just a couple of items to sell it wasn't very practical.
Our Consignment Program is the perfect solution. When you consign your antiques, collectibles or furniture with the Cooper City Antique Mall, your items will be displayed for sale in our showroom. We advertise extensively to bring in buyers, and our friendly staff is on hand to assist customers as they shop in our store. We may also list selected consigned items in our ON LINE CATALOG to further increase your chance of sales.
How the Consignment Program works
If you have some antiques, collectibles or furniture that you've been thinking about selling, then talk with us today about our Consignment Program. Don't pay for storage for something you don't even want when we can sell it and make you some money instead!
Buyouts:
We will buy outright items we are interested in. The advantage would be a gauranteed amount would be recieved as opposed to a variable Estate Sale, immediate instead of the time required by an estate sale, and in the case of privacy, painful emotions, or an unsafe home it averts having the public enter the home.
Estate Sales:
Estate sales can turn junk into money as household items with no value to the antique field will have value to "customers" of an estate sale. Because more will sell, it becomes an easy way to clean out an entire estate. Additionally, with 500+ people coming through a single estate sale, the visibility of the home aids in its sale.
Trust our years in business and experience in Estate Sales. We will try and make YOU the most money possible.
How it Works
1. The rightful owner/executer of the estate must first find out what is available. While we prefer antiques to 1950's furniture, all estates can be considered. Remember to not throw anything out until we take a look - your junk is another's treasure. Keep in mind those garage odds and ends will sell in an Estate Sale. Though we ask that homes be somewhat organized, cleaning services can be provided for an additional fee.
2. After a telephone interview is conducted and we feel that there is a possibility, we will schedule an initial evaluation by appointment.
3. We usually take a percentage of the final sale, but each estate differs and rates vary so please call to inquire. Prior to negotiation and signing a contract, a current homeowner's insurance policy and title must be furnished.
4. About 1-2 weeks prior to the sale, the skilled employees of Francesca Ellis Estate Sales organize and price the entire estate.
5. Sales are usually held on Saturdays with extensive advertising through major local papers and the internet.
6. At the sale, we hand out numbers to our customers who patiently wait in line. They are allowed in groups whose number depends on the size of the house. An entrance and exit are designated for efficient traffic flow and loss prevention. Guards as well as customer-service oriented employees aid in loss prevention. We will prosecute shoplifters!
7. We usually only give 1 to 3 days after the sale for customers to pick up their purchases. Often, sales continue after the sale.
8. At the conclusion of the sale we can give a settlement sheet itemizing major purchases, if needed by an estate. You must request this before the sale.
9. When items are left it is your discretion on how you'd settle the balance. Either we can help and arrange for someone to clean out, or we can give you a few numbers of people we suggest and you can handle it yourself.

How the Consignment Program works
- You show us what you want to sell by bringing in a photo, or arranging for us to visit your location - we need to approve each item selected for consignment
- If we agree to accept consignment you will sign a contract and we will set up your consignment account, and it's good for 6 months
- The Cooper City Antique Mall will establish the initial sale price for your item based on market conditions, and we'll display it for sale in our store. We'll also list selected items in our ON LINE CATALOG to get worldwide sales exposure.
- If necessary, we'll reduce the selling price by 10% a month for up to 3 months until your item is sold
- Once your item is sold we'll pay you 60% of the final sale price, minus a small credit card processing fee if the buyer used a credit card to make the purchase
